In refrigeration plants potential waste heat can be recovered from condensing, compression and desuperheating processes. Hence, the refrigeration system needs to be modelled in detail.
Furthermore, the degree of waste heat recovery depends on various parameters, like refrigerant, condensing temperature and heating and cooling load. Aditionally, the seasonal loads and the synchronization
of supply and demand are important. Therefore, the energy streams of the heat
sink and source are compared within the pinch analysis. Furthermore, the potential benefits of waste heat recovery solutions can be rated
using the total primary energy demand of the systems.
